I read this book in the 4th grade as it was featured in our textbook and I loved everything that dealt with fairy tales back then so I was hooked on it from caribbesn beginning. This version of Cinderella is told from the perspective of a Caribbean fairy godmother. In reading or listening to this book they will be able to see that fairy tales and folklore are common to all people, providing a great diversity teachable moment.

I liked how this version kept many of the same traditional parts of Cinderella but changed it to the Caribean culture and words. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. This book can show students how even people who live cagibbean away enjoy reading similar stories!

It shoes the beauty and atmosphere of the island setting. I saw love returned from her sweet brown eyes. I love how the author made the reference to the original story and in many ways insulted it at the same time. I really enjoyed the illustrations.
Happy to find this and it arrived carefully packaged in great condition. After visiting New Orleans, I crndrillon interested in the Creole and Cajun cultures, so this book seemed like a perfect fit.
