This work combines Xenophon’s version of The Apology and Symposium with four short books on memorable thoughts of Socrates. Twelve Voices from Greece and Rome. The impressions I get of him in both accounts is not converdations that incompatible. If you’re into stuff like this, you can read the full review. Not to mention smaller instances of their care, such as the concern they take of our pleasures, in confining men to no certain season for the enjoying them, as they have done other animals. I believe that these translators admired Xenophon – they translated his works, they wrote these introductions.

Xenophon established a legend whereas Plato created a sort of deity; one is of the past and the other is still with us.
