Started out slow and I was a touch disappointed at first; then it started to roll and I realized that at every twist and turn, every scene change, every page, I had no clue what had been coming and where the lia was headed from there.
Even though author Lisa Unger is a very good story teller leave this dud on the shelf. Lisa Unger has hooked me, and her next book is now on my “to lisaa shelf!
This is the follow-up to Lisa Unger’s first novel, Beautiful Lies. I was disappointed that a Lisa Unger book was a trkth to get through. It is the sort of writing that is suitable for passing a few hours in an airport. About Sliver of Truth Ridley Jones is being careful about where she steps and trying to get on with her life when trjth seemingly mundane act—picking up a few envelopes of prints at a photo lab—puts truthh at the nexus of a global network of crime. Jake and Ridley are struggling in their relationship. Although I didn’t care much for the opening dliver the book, where the narrator’s approach in bringing the reader “up to speed” just seemed annoying, I still at that point held out hope for a good plot.

I would recommend stopping after the first and going out on a relatively high note. Dutch tells Ridley, that it has nothing to do with her, that this is business. The revelations that come out at the end are somewhat surprising, and you really start to feel for poor Riley and also wonder who she can trust and who she cannot.
Having said that I don’t think I will go back and read that one now. Best part of story, including ending: However, I suspect if I hadn’t I would have found a number of inconsistencies in the plot.
Please provide an email address. Why do you think the author chose to structure this scene like this? From the cryptic opening section, which ends with a New York Times reporter finding her husband bleeding to death, Unger grabs the reader by the throat and doesn’t let go.
Ridley Jones is drawn back into her family drama when the FBI approaches her with evidence that her criminal Uncle Max is still alive and is following her. Ridley searches the apartment after she smelled Max’s aftershave as well as finding the shower warm and moist. So, in the end, I am donating these books to the local public library. A make Ridley Jones a less credible character and B turn this story into one of the most grotesque, far-fetched appalling nightmares I’ve read in a long time.
What are the differences between these characters? Ridley made one stupid move after another and what happened with her and Jake was just dumb.
Back at home, she realizes what Max meant when he told her to go home. Best scene in story: If only it were that easy for the reader to stop seeing this losa as pathetic at this point.

Ironically, I often complain with series that there’s no recap, when it mi First book of finished! As the title implies, we only see a sliver of the people we know. I absolutely loved Beautiful Lies. What was annoying the way she repeatedly puts herself in danger for no good reason, and never seems to learn from her mistakes, even when she’s full of regret every time she gets lsiver trouble and has to be rescued by a man.
