Both books are so different that you cannot believe that they occurred to the same individual. Augusten Burroughs has written bburroughs lot of memoirs, most famously Running with Scissors, but this one’s a bit different since it’s mostly an adaptation of a diary auggusten was keeping at the time. These metaphors, though, seem to serve no purpose than either to shock the reader or to prove how hilarious and cool Burroughs is. Any romantic relationship directly after rehab is discouraged, and hooking up with a fellow addict is verboten – but Augusten can’t help himself.

And because he knows that about himself, he can write very funny books about it. What more augustej be said about Augusten Burroughs?
