Helped me become a better lead climber for sure. I’m pretty anti-woo, but there’s some practical stuff in here about understanding and working with your mental state. I recomme I’m not into paa help books, and have never read much in this category. Although some of the metaphors were a guerrerso cheesy it oa out aspects and language that I previously had brushed over. At the end of the book there are exercises to help develop the awareness and skills described in each step.


A must-read for climbers. While most of the concepts by themselves are hardly ground-breaking revolutions, the down-to-earth presentation applied to a specif I picked up this book expecting climbing technique, and was surprised to find that it is much more closely tied to mindfulness and can be applied to any situation involving risk and action–that is to say, life.
